About SheenWise
SheenWise is a guide to painting and refinishing cabinets and furniture, and to the software painters and refinishers use to run their business. It is written by a working cabinet refinisher, and every article says what we have used ourselves and what we have only researched.
SheenWise exists because most painting advice online is written by people who have never sprayed a cabinet door. Our guides are built on real refinishing work: real kitchens, real furniture, real mistakes and fixes.
Who writes SheenWise?
Brandon is a professional cabinet refinisher in Utah. He runs his own cabinet refinishing business, which has done close to 500 kitchens, and has used Jobber day to day for a few years to quote, schedule, invoice and get paid, including text-to-pay invoices, quotes with options, deposits and a QuickBooks sync.
- First-hand: close to 500 kitchens of cabinet prep, priming and painting on client jobs; running a refinishing business on Jobber.
- Researched, not used: Housecall Pro and CompanyCam. When we cover them, we label them that way.
Who is SheenWise for?
Homeowners and DIYers who want a finish that looks sprayed, not brushed, and lasts. Painters and refinishers running a small business who want to spend less time on quotes, scheduling and chasing invoices.
How do we decide what to recommend?
- We say what we have used, and what we have not. We never invent tests, reviews or results.
- Numbers (dry times, cure times, feature limits) come from a named source, usually the manufacturer's data sheet or the vendor's help center, and we link it.
- We use AI tools to help draft and organize articles. A person with hands-on experience reviews every recommendation before it is published.
- Some links are paid links. They never change what we recommend. See our disclosure.
